Dan Zelikman

Dan Zelikman is the lead strategist for StarrTech Interactive on all digital and new media purchasing, implementation, analysis, and optimization. Dan comes to Hawaii from the wonderful world of finance, (sarcasm included) where he worked for one of the largest international foreign currency trading brokerage firms, Forex Capital Markets (FXCM). While on Wall Street, Dan was responsible for the planning and implementation of media buying on over 100 sites on a monthly basis, in more than 15 countries and 10 languages. Working with sites like Google, Yahoo, MSN, CNN Money, AOL, Ask, About, Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, The Financial Times, and hundreds of others, Dan was responsible for the management of millions of media dollars on a monthly basis.

Since joining StarrTech, Dan has planned media and strategy for Centex Destination Properties, Hawaiian Telcom, Kauai Visitors and Convention Bureau, Marriott Hawaii, Polynesian Cultural Center, Bank of Hawaii, AIG Hawaii, Hawaii Superferry, and Castle Resorts & Hotels. Dan brought many of his existing relationships from NY allowing for a smooth transition from finance to sites like Yahoo Travel, TripAdvisor, Kayak, SideStep, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Travel Ad Network, Fodors, and Frommers.

Social media has been something Dan has watched and assessed from the sidelines for the last three years. Even during his finance days Dan attempted to create a forex platform gaming concept in Facebook almost six months prior to the first application launch in their platform. Although a premature effort then, Dan continues to find ways to overlap interactive & new media with social media in a positive return for his clients, his company, and himself. Now fully integrated in the stream of social media, Dan is a large advocate for this new age of communication and hopes to spread the understanding of social media in any way that he can.

Otherwise you can find him surfing the various breaks in the south shore, hiking in Hawaii Kai, eating in Waikiki, or working in downtown!
