‘Ohana Sponsor – Center for Disability Studies
Posted by judi on Oct 5, 2008 in ʻOhana Sponsors • No commentsThe stories being told on the Internet and over the web are as diverse as the people creating them. We don't know that some authors can't type, or walk, or talk. That does not--and should not--stop the stories from being shared. In the spirit of inclusion and equality, we are thrilled that Center for Disability Studies joins us as an ʻOhana sponsor!
They are generously reaching out to their network of over 6000 people as well as doing good old grass roots marketing for us at the University of Hawaii and beyond. This kind of collaboration is a big part of what makes Podcamps and Wordcamps such successful community events, and their support is what keeps these events free!
The Center on Disability Studies (CDS) is located at the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa in the College of Education. The mission of the CDS is to support the quality of life, community inclusion, and self-determination of all persons with disabilities and their families. This is accomplished through training, service, research, education, demonstration, evaluation, and dissemination activities internationally, nationally, regionally, and locally.
